When I Wear My Apron ~ Giveaway – Christian Homemaking

Uncategorized

When I wear my apron, a new day is upon me. I take a peek through the kitchen curtains. The sun has yet to rise over the mountain. It is quiet in my home and I can hear my thoughts. As I make a quick checklist in my mind of the tasks before me, I realize I must get ready for work.

I know that work has begun. The oven is preheated and the eggs are cracked. As I decide if today’s omelet will be smothered in Cheddar Cheese or Colby Jack, my lips are pressed together and turned upright. I smile. I smile because I love what I am doing. I am starting my work day and I am dressed in my uniform.

There I am with my fingers in the dough. White flour is not only splattered across the counter, I see it on my apron. As I glance to the left and see a pile of dishes in the sink, it is then I remember the dirty laundry that has been making a trial down the hall since last night. (Yes, I went to bed with dirty clothes in the hallway.)

I wish could tell you that I was the perfect homemaker, but I am not. What I can tell you is that through my imperfections, a perfect God has given me the desire for my home and for those that dwell within. It may sound silly, but when I look down at my apron, I feel a breath of fresh air.

Maybe you’re like me, an imperfect homemaker leaning on a prefect God and need a breath of fresh air. If that is you, I am encouraging you to wear your apron. If you do not have an apron, I have good news for you. I am doing a giveaway. My friend Tonya is wearing the apron that I will be giving away. This apron was personally handmade by me. I love to make aprons!

You have until midnight tonight PST to enter the giveaway. Please enter with your name and email address in the comments on this blogpost. I will announce the winner tomorrow morning at 7:00am PST.

The apron giveaway is officially over. The winner was randomly selected. The winner is *drum roll please*…

Thank you to all who participated. Your comments warmed my heart.
