Heartfelt Simplicity…

Uncategorized

As women we have the ability to make the most of the many wonderful ‘simple things’ that the Lord has provided. This can be done by nourishing & creating a place of rest, beauty and joy in our homes. When a treasured family member or friend enters our home…. are we communicating to them an environment of hospitality & kindness? Not only our home, meals, and accessories communicate an attitude of hospitality, but most importantly our hearts.

“Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a

stalled ox and hatred therewith.”

-Proverbs 15:17

Even though our drinking glasses might be sparkling and our meal might be scrumptious, if our heart attitude and mind are not in the right place it will be a fruitless gesture, indeed.

However, there is hope and joy for the happy homemaker, even though her floors might not be spotless or her meal ideal… her kind welcoming demeanor, tender voice, wise words, and joyful smile will make her guest feel affectionately loved and cared for.

And that is, indeed, far above rubies.

Oh, to be more like the woman of Proverbs 31 not only in action, but also in godly demeanor.

Join me ladies and visionaries in putting on the fruits of the spirit combined with fruitful hospitality and proclaim feminine loveliness to the world as we endeavor to live the ‘simple life’ for God’s glory!

“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own
hands the foolish one tears hers down.”
-Proverbs 14:1

Having just turned 19, Jen finds great joy in serving her family from home. She firmly believes that the home is a beautiful canvas for biblical hospitality, servanthood and discipleship. All aspects of homemaking are on her list of interests including gourmet cooking, baking, calligraphy, sewing and embroidery. She is also inspired by photography, music, theology and biblical womanhood.

Miss Jen blogs at Blessed Femina, which she founded in the fall of 2008 to document her blessed life as a daughter/homemaker-in- training and to encourage other women in Biblical femininity.
Happily residing in sunny northern California with her parents, it is her greatest desire to live a life depicted in I Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
