Easy DIY Hair Bows – Christian Homemaking

Uncategorized

DIY Hair Bows are so quick and easy to make.  You can add the bows to a hair clip, hair tie, or a plain headband.

Step 1:  Fold one piece of fabric with the right sides together.  Pin and cut pattern with the grain line parallel with the selvage.

Step 2:  Remove pattern.  Place a 3″ piece of washi tape along one edge.  Pin edges with pins or Wonder Clips.

Step 3:  Stitch around the entire edge 1/4″, leaving an opening where the washi tape is, and pivoting at the corners.

Step 4:  Place an index card at the opening along the seamline.  Press.  Turn over and repeat on the other side.

Step 5:  Turn right-side-out.  Use a Point Turner to poke the corners.  Press.  (There is no need to stitch opening closed.)

Step 6:  Insert into a hair tie and knot.

Or insert into a hairband and knot.

My name is Ana Sullivan. I began my blog, The Lost Apron, because people would ask me for advice on parenting. My only qualifications for giving advice is that I have been there and I am proud of who my children have become. I have a daughter in college, a son and another daughter that are college graduates who are working and living on their own. I have been married for almost 30 years to a dream of a husband.

I have been a working mom, a part-time-work-at-home mom, and a stay-at-home mom. Although I have prefered being the SAHM, I try to write my blog in a way that would encourage all moms to be better moms. I hope to be the mentor mom to the young mom and the friend to the older moms and grandmothers. You can visit me over at Pinterest and Facebook.
