Announcing New Book: Queen of the Home {& Giveaway!}

Uncategorized

I am SOOOOO pleased and excited to announce the release of the NEW book, Queen of the Home: Essays, Poetry and Quotes on the Honor, Power and Nobility of Biblical Womanhood, compiled by Jen McBride of Noble Womanhood, over at Vision Forum.

Here is a description of the book:

In past generations, the role of wife and mother was viewed as a sacred calling. The committed homemaker was seen as strong, capable, intelligent, and irreplaceable. She was regarded not only as a crucial part of the home, but as a foundational bulwark of society. She was considered worthy of great honor, appreciation, and respect. Though in recent years feminists have sought to demean this glorious calling, the Bible’s hopeful vision of noble womanhood is one worth reclaiming. Queen of the Home seeks to cast that vision afresh through godly encouragements from writers past and present. This inspiring collection of essays, poetry, and poignant vignettes paints a beautiful picture of what it means for a wife to be a crown to her husband, the monarch of the cradle, and queen of the home, and calls upon daughters to embrace their rewarding role and sacred calling as regal women of God.

WOW! Doesn’t this book sound great? There’s MORE–essays and or quotes included by the following:

 …and even me!

Jen contacted me earlier this year about using some of my writings and I was honored to be asked–so this is the first time my writing will officially be published in a book! (Can you guess what all my friends and family are getting for Christmas?) Not only that but Jen has also included poetry, essays, etc. from inspiring writers from the past as well.

Here are some excerpts:

Although Feminism continues her barrage against Biblical womanhood, we must refuse to heed her lies anymore. Let us victoriously reclaim our thrones for the sake of our families,the advancement of Christs Kingdom, generations yet to come, and the glory of God.” ~ From the Introduction by Jen McBride

“Refreshing and motivating, this book is exactly what every mom needs on her desk or nightstand for those moments during the day when we could use an energy boost! Jennifer’s book contains my favorite passages of inspiration. Read and be encouraged!” ~ Beall Phillips (from the back cover)

“Queen of the Home reminds us of our birthright as women, and it is a rich and beautiful one. In the beginning, God set Adam and Eve as king and queen over creation. They were designed to complement one another. It wasn’t good for man to be alone, as God Himself stated. Man needed woman to complete him as his perfect helper. Without woman, godly dominion simply could not take place. With his helper, Adam could tend and keep the garden, drawing on Eve’s gifts and abilities and being fruitful as God commanded. The fall harmed that perfect union and distorted the mysterious and holy marriage relationship, but Christ’s finished work on the cross redeems us from the fall and calls us back to co-laboring as husbands and wives, each with important roles to fulfill as we serve the Lord. In turn, our laboring together in harmony presents a picture of Christ and His bride, the Church. What a glorious calling!

 Jennifer McBride has given us a powerful dose of inspiration and vision in this volume. I am thankful for her willingness to put it together, and I look forward to sharing it with family and friends. I pray you will be blessed as you enjoy these pages and meditate on the importance of the amazing, multi-faceted role God has given you. You are queen of your home! May your home reflect the glory and goodness of the God Who placed you there.” ~ From the Foreword by Jennie Chancey

The chapter titles are as follows:

The King’s Daughters

Queen of the Home

Monarch of the Cradle
