Homemade All Purpose Cleaner

Uncategorized

Isn’t it fun to get things sparkling clean?!

There is nothing I enjoy more than the refreshing result of a clean & tidy space.
A few years back I found this lovely recipe for “all purpose cleaner”
which a friend graciously shared with me. I love using it and I’m so happy to
have an alternative for some of the pungent chemical cleaners that are on the market.

My friend Mrs.T writes~

“I enjoy giving the kids a spray bottle and not having to worry about them breathing toxic fumes. Plus, they are really inexpensive to make! I like the natural cleaning products out there but they cost much more than the homemade ones and are basically the same thing!”

All Purpose Cleaner

I use this cleaner on counters, tile floors, tubs and toilets…. it is great!

2 T.white vinegar (only distilled white vinegar)

1 t Borax

A few drops of a mild dish detergent

5 drops of essential oil

(Lavender, Orange, Rose etc…. ;) .

In a 16 oz. spray bottle add vinegar, borax and half hot water.
Swish around until borax has dissolved.
Add the drops of dish detergent and
fill the rest of the bottle with hot water.
Add the essential oil… & Shake.

Once you have finished cleaning,
it’s always nice to leave a pleasant scent in the room.

Instead of using a chemically based air freshener try a scrumptious
scented candle or dried potpourri to make a sweet delightful aroma.

Your guest, family or friends will surely be refreshed
in your beautifully scented surroundings.

What are some of your favorite natural recipes, ideas and tips for housecleaning?

All aspects of homemaking are on her list of interests including gourmet cooking, baking, calligraphy, sewing and embroidery. She is also inspired by photography, music, theology and biblical womanhood.

Miss Jen blogs at Blessed Femina, which she founded in the fall of 2008 to document her blessed life as a daughter/homemaker-in- training and to encourage other women in Biblical femininity.
Happily residing in sunny northern California with her parents, it is her greatest desire to live a life depicted in I Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
