“I Could Never Homeschool My Own Kids!” Sure You Could!

by Mandy on June 26, 2018 in Homeschooling

“I could never homeschool my own kids.” I hear this frequently from parents when they find out I homeschool. Sometimes I just smile and nod. Other times I say, “Sure you could”. It’s true. Everyone can homeschool.

I know the thought seems overwhelming. It seemed overwhelming to me when we began homeschooling back in 2003. Some days it is still overwhelms me, but when something is important you just find a way.

I definitely couldn’t have done it without God. He has been with us every step of the way. He has guided our choices of curriculum, held our hands through difficult science labs, found people to help us when we were completely stumped on a math problem, sent a fellow homeschooling “angel” our way with a sweet message of encouragement, reminded us to give each other grace and take breaks, and He has provided the necessary finances.

People approach me almost every day with questions about homeschooling. Recently I’ve been thinking about how I want to pay it forward. There are many ways can encourage and help others on their homeschool journey. The Lord has been giving me all sorts of ideas for resources, freebies, and posts about homeschooling. As I go through my day, I’m carving out time to work on providing more resources and encouragement to others.

If you are curious about homeschooling or need help on your journey, please feel free to contact me. I truly desire to lift up families as they seek God in the crucial area of education for their children.

Remember, at the moment it’s a work in progress but as God pours ideas into me, I’ll be posting them. In fact, check out our homeschool and time management freebies as well as our You Can Homeschool: A Step-by-Step Guide.

I look forward to connecting and walking with you on you homeschooling journey. Prayers and blessings!
