Did you know that keeping yourself energized is a command in scripture?

I didn’t either until I was driving home from a child’s appointment one day. A verse came on the radio that said, “Don’t burn out! Keep yourself fueled and aflame. Serve the Lord.” (Romans 12:11)

It was one of those God moments where He takes a {perhaps familiar} scripture and opens your mind to really “get” it.

Romans 12:11 clicked with me that day and I understood God’s deep concern for my energy level.

If you are like me, God has called you to a “high-octane” kind of life. The good news is that on a very practical level, He wants us to know how to keep ourselves ”fueled and aflame.”

God is so gracious and good that He even cares about our energy levels! He cares when we have a mid-morning melt down or when we move through our days sluggish and lethargic.  He cares when we can’t seem to muster what it takes to tackle that housekeeping job…or pour into our children…or lavishly love our husbands.

Scripture teaches that even our eating and drinking is to be done enthusiastically, energetically, and purposefully, from the inside out and for the glory of God. God does not desire lethargy, apathy, sluggishness, passivity, or boredom.

Does that sound impossible?

Not when you understand that God has given us everything we need and graciously guides and directs us in the way we should go! He is with us, He is for us, and He will help us.

With that in mind, I have a very special invitation for you.

Quite simply, I invite you to fulfill Romans 12:11 in your life…and I’m offering you a tool for doing it.

This is a plan I personally use to keep myself “fueled and aflame.” It is a step-by-step guide to increasing energy and addresses the body, mind, and spirit. You can read about it and see what others have to say here.
