Feminine Diligence…

Uncategorized

“We must aggressively subdue and not passively loiter….. Basking in the satisfaction of a job well done, restfully praising the Lord for the work He’s enabled our hands to do. The completed projects act as gratifying and comfortable footstools for our feet. We are able to say….. “That week of work was good, very good.” (Genesis 1:31) –Womanly Dominion

Whilst cleaning rooms yesterday, I was thinking about the importance of doing every chore, task, and duty with great dignity, strength and neatness… Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms ironing shirts, drying dishes and folding clothes should not be tasks we are trying to get done quickly, sloppily or in a rush. Rather think of each chore with delight… think of yourself as a CEO of your home, the President in residence of homemaking. Create a presence of warmth, tidyness and cleanliness in your home, so… that others will feel welcome and calmed when they enter your living quarters.

Whether you are in an apartment, condo, cottage, farm house or exotic mansion, you have the ability to create a clean atmosphere sending a message to your visitors that calms their soul, and makes their hearts sing with thankfulness…. And that, my dear, is indeed a completed job well done.

I salute you dear Homemaking Executives. Dominate and subdue your living space with strength and dignity!!! Be women who are exercising ~ true Feminine Diligence!!!

“The plans of the diligent lead to profit
as surely as haste leads to poverty.”
-Proverbs 21:5

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” -Proverbs 31:27

Having just turned 19, Jen finds great joy in serving her family from home. She firmly believes that the home is a beautiful canvas for biblical hospitality, servanthood and discipleship. All aspects of homemaking are on her list of interests including gourmet cooking, baking, calligraphy, sewing and embroidery. She is also inspired by photography, music, theology and biblical womanhood.

Miss Jen blogs at Blessed Femina, which she founded in the fall of 2008 to document her blessed life as a daughter/homemaker-in- training and to encourage other women in Biblical femininity.
Happily residing in sunny northern California with her parents, it is her greatest desire to live a life depicted in I Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
