Yummy Healthier Apple Crisp Recipe – Christian Homemaking

It’s apple season which means it’s time to break out all the delicious apple recipes and fire up the stove!

You will love this yummy apple crisp recipe–it has less sugar than other similar recipes and uses whole wheat flour in place of white. Also the peels stay on so less work for you!

The ingredients you will need are:

10 cups apples (cored, sliced, unpeeled)

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon white whole wheat flour

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 cup water

1 cup quick cooking oats

I cup white whole wheat flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Put apples into 9 x 13 dish. Mix white sugar, flour, and cinnamon together and sprinkle over apples. Pour the water over it.

Combine the oats,  cup of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, walnuts and butter and mix it all together. Put the crumble evenly over the dish.

Bake for 45 minutes. Makes about 12 servings.

Top with whip cream or vanilla ice cream.
