Am I the only one feeling like time is rushing forward with no end in sight?
Sometimes I feel like things can get so busy and that I can loose track of what is important to me if I am not purposeful. Like teaching my children about important things such as virtue and character.
I am grateful that this amazing lady had taken the time to write this out–God’s Wisdom for Little Girls: Virtues and Fun from Proverbs 31
I have always found Elizabeth George to be sound and found reading her books to be like talking to an old friend. I love that she has this helpful book for little girls. It shares a poem and Bible verse on each page.
You can read them at night or during the day over tea–or just even snuggled under a cozy quilt by the fireplace.
GOD’S LITTLE GIRL IS BUSY
“The garden of God’s little girl–how grand!
It began with a dream, a prayer, and a plan,
Nothing this spendid just happens, we know;
It takes time and care for flowers to grow.
She looks at a field and buys it
With money she has earned
she plants a vineyard.
GOD’S LITTLE GIRL IS PREPARED
Some fear the winter–the snow, sleet and rain.
Not God’s little girl. (Please let me explain.)
Her warm, wooly coat is ready in advance,
God’s girl is all set for every circumstance.
She does not worry about her family
When it snows.
My girls are older now and I wish I could have that time when they were young back again. I am grateful for my 3 year old daughter, Isabella Rose, who I will get to read this book to again! The illustrated pictures are just SO adorable.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the boy version of this book , God’s Wisdom for Little Boys, with my sons too, in case you have sons and are interested!
What books have you used to teach your smaller children character?
Please share them in the comments!
