Are You Proud To Be A Homemaker? – Raising Homemakers

Uncategorized

Is it just me or have we slowly allowed a little bit of feminism to creep into our lives?

This may seem silly, but I am noticing when someone asks me what I do for my job I tend to come up with this stumbled upon answer.

“Me? Oh um well, I stay home with my children…But I used to be a nurse. Mmmhm, yep. I homeschool them too. Yep, that’s my job, I’m pretty busy…” as I sheepishly try to change the subject.

Anyone else see where I’m coming from? I have let the stereotype society places on homemakers infiltrate my thoughts about myself, my passions, and everything I write so boldly about. The enemy’s plan start with us. Satan is on a mission to breakdown the family unit and he can accomplish this in the most subtle of ways. We must continuously be on guard.

As homemakers, we know the truth in our hearts. We are humbled to have a hand in bringing up the next generation for God. We are certain there is no better way to spend our days than to be the hands and feet of Jesus to these little ones He has entrusted to us. We smile at our future knowing we are contributing to kingdom work. We can take the hard days in stride knowing that we are in our God given calling and purpose.

However, not everyone is so fortunate. People all over the world are in search for their purpose in life. They yearn for meaning and depth.  A quick browse down the book isle will confirm that. How blessed we are to hold the powerful keys to a beautiful life, one that’s worth something, one that point to our Savior.

Why must we shy away from our homes and roles in society just because others may deem our work unimportant or a waste of time?

Let’s be proud, a humbled proud, and stand up for the most honorable vocation of them all. Lets say YES I stay home with my children, YES I am busy, YES it’s all good!

Don’t let the agendas of feminism win in their attempts to steal our joy and make us feel less than. The walk within our God given calling is the most important one we will ever take. Let’s hold our head high while fixing our eyes on Jesus.

You are important mama. You are the backbone of what products come into the next generation. We must put our nose to the grindstone and work hard at keeping our intentions pure all for the glory of God.

Who’s with me? Do you have trouble voicing your career?

Are you proud to be a homemaker?
