Naomi’s Christmas Jam Thumbprint Cookies

by June Fuentes on November 28, 2017 in Food, Fun

I wanted to share one of my daughter’s favorite cookie recipes Jam Tart Cookies that we have made often for Christmas, tea parties, church potlucks and are quite a favorite! Here it is:

The Yummy Ingredients:

1/4 cup jam

1 cup butter, softened

1/3 cup sugar

1 3/4 cups flour

Pinch of salt.

Directions:

1. Preheat the over to 350 degrees. Spoon the jam into a small bowl and stir it until it is smooth.

2. In a mixing bowl, cream the sure together until they are light and fluffy.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend until a dough is formed.

4. Pinch off bits of dough and roll them into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet about 1 inch apart.

5. Press your finger into the center of each cookie to make a “well”. If the dough cracks, pinch it back together. Fill each well with 1/4 teaspoon of jam. We like apricot, raspberry, or orange marmalade.

Do you bake the cookies after you put the jam in? How long do you bake them?
