DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Bags!

Today we have a post from our sweet contributor, Ana,  from The Lost Apron:

DIY Valentine's Day Gift Bags. Giving Valentine's Day gifts to friends and family is such fun. Simple gifts of candy can mean so much. Costs of gifts can be burdensome when you add the cost of wrapping. These bags are virtually free because they are made from boutique store bags. -- The Lost Apron

Go through your stash of saved bags from shopping at boutique stores.  Try to find the ones that the store name is not too large.  They do not have to be pink or red to become a Valentine’s Day gift bag.

Find some conversation hearts.

  • You can use some of your children’s extra Valentine’s Day cards.
  • You can do a google search for free printable conversation hearts, print on card stock, then cut them out.  The printable shown here is from Hello Little Home.
  • I used cards from a deck of Sweet Notes playing cards.

Apply the conversation hearts to the boutique bags to cover the name of the store.  If the boutique name is long, you may need two or more hearts.  Use double sided tape or a hot glue gun to apply the hearts.

Fill your new Valentine’s Day gift bags with special treats and pretty tissue.

My name is Ana Sullivan. I began my blog, The Lost Apron, because people would ask me for advice on parenting. My only qualifications for giving advice is that I have been there and I am proud of who my children have become. I have a daughter in college, a son and another daughter that are college graduates who are working and living on their own. I have been married for almost 30 years to a dream of a husband.

I have been a working mom, a part-time-work-at-home mom, and a stay-at-home mom. Although I have preferred being the SAHM, I try to write my blog in a way that would encourage all moms to be better moms. I hope to be the mentor mom to the young mom and the friend to the older moms and grandmothers. You can visit me over at Pinterest and Facebook.
