It’s Fall Y’all

by Sandra on September 22, 2016 in Home Culture, Home Decor, Homemaking

This seems to happen each year around this time. I cannot wait to walk through orange and yellow leaves surrounded with hues of green and crisp edges. I scurry around the house with excitement as I decorate with Fall décor. Most of it was purchased at the end of the season last year. I am not even a latte drinker, but I quickly hit the like button on social media when my friends post a photo of their first Pumpkin Spice Latte.

autumn

Autumn days can be filled with gray skies, shorter days and chilly nights. Life has a tendency to slow down during this time. More time is spent indoors. As a homemaker, this is why I put much emphasis on decorating during this time of year. If I am going to spend countless hours inside my home, I might as well make it a pleasant sight.

I know that homemaking is not about feelings. However, I feel as though I am a better and happier homemaker when my home is decorated. It is my home. It is a reflection of me. It is a safe haven for my family. There is a tendency for me to have a little more pep in my step while the aroma of Pumpkin bread spreads throughout this place.

As we begin a season, take a moment and think about your home. Then ask yourself this question, “What can I do this season to make my home a better place?” It doesn’t have to be something grand. It can be as simple as a scented candle or a wreath on the door.  Find something that will make your days of homemaking happy days during this Fall. It’s a season, it’s a new day.

“To everything there is a season…” ~Ecclesiastes 3:1

I agree with you 100%! I’m going to share this post, I just love it!
Fall is the busiest time of year for us and I’ve not been able to enjoy it for years because of that. I’ve decided to make a conscious effort to take a few moments to enjoy fall this year though, including putting a few decorations up! Thank you for this post!

SANDRA, TRUE ENOUGH IT IS FALL THE LEAVES SWAYING TO THE GROUND, THE COLORS FADING FROM SHADES TO SHADES NATURALLY. WHAT MIGHTY HANDS OF GOD TO PERFORM SUCH A TONE OF COLORS EACH SEASON TO REPRESENT CHANGE OF ANOTHER SEASON. THIS IS SO AWESOME TO CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY EVEN IN OUR LIVES AND THE JOY THAT FLOWS INSIDE,GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR US ALL THAT WE MAY SOMEDAY SEE AS HAGAII AND ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF EACH SEASON IN OUR LIVES TO BARE WITNESS THAT HE, MEANING GOD HAS DID SUCH A GREAT THING WITH NO CALCULATION OF TRYING TO HAVE HIS CHILDREN PAY HIM BACK FROM THOSE SEASONS OF MANY BLESSINGS, THAT’S ETERNAL AND FOREVER MORE!
