Summer is a wonderful time to get our daughters into reading some good books that will encourage their souls and strengthen their walk with God.
It can be very hard to find good books these days–so we wanted to share books that we know will be a blessing to your daughter and give her some food for thought and inspiration as she goes about her days.
Today we are sharing a book called A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George.
Elizabeth is one of my favorite authors for women! When I was a baby Christian her books taught me so much about biblical womanhood and provided so much wisdom is such a gentle and loving way. I wholeheartedly endorse her books because she is very sound and has a way of writing that makes you feel like she is an old friend.
Here is the book description:
“What does it mean to live God in your everyday life? It means knowing and following God’s perfect plan for you as a young woman. Learn how to…
-grow close to God
-get along with your family and friends
-make the right kinds of choices
-become more like Jesus
-prepare for the future
-fulfill the desires of your heart
As you read along, you’ll find yourself caught up in the exciting adventure of a lifetime–that of becoming a woman after God’s own heart! You’ll love the special “Heart Response” sections created just for you. And the practical “Things to Do Today” will help you in your desire to know and follow God.”
Here is a review from a Christian mom:
“This book is brilliant with loads of insight to help teens develop their own personal walk with God. George writes in a warm engaging manner encouraging the reader to be proactive in their pursuit of a heart that marches to the beat of Gods drum! Each chapter is filled with helpful suggestions rounded off with with a challenging heart response, a practical “to Do List” to help motivate & a short bible study. I am presently working through this book with my 11 year old daughter & it’s providing her with the tools to move on in her christian walk without me being there.”
