This Woman Writes -- Carolyn Henderson June 20, 2013

I am number 195 this week — the Exhausted Smiley Face Emoticon. More and more of us are communicating via text, e-mail, or social media these days — including with our children, spouses, and other family members. It’s too easy to let short cuts, like the smiley face, take up the slack of actual thoughtful communication. Hard to believe, but part of educating or home educating our children these days involves teaching them how to text efficiently, succinctly, accurately, and well.
