Recently my girls and I were out picking grapes from our vines and we were discussing how God designed the vines and the grapes to be so beautiful and smell so wonderful. It brought to mind John 15: 4-5, which says,

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

The tendrils of the grapevine wrap themselves around the vine  – a beautiful reminder of our need to hunger and thirst after righteousness, holding tightly onto Christ.

My husband was faithful to water the vines this summer through the drought that we were having – a picture of how being watered with the Word of God produces much fruit.

As we walk with our children, let us remember to point them to God and recognize His hand in everything around us.

The Fruit of the Spirit series will return at the end of September with a double edition and two free embroidery patterns! We had to push back the patterns until then because my design team is currently busy creating a new product for Noble Rose Press.

Robin,
Thank you for this! Words so simple yet so powerful! As I reflect on God’s hand in shaping me today through my imperfections this verse was perfect! Thank you so much for your constant wisdom!
Love, Dawn
