Would you believe I have yet another giveaway for you today? Oh yes, yes I do. But before we get to that, let’s talk about our weekly Polished Cornerstones link-up – what Polished Cornerstones is and how the link-up will work…
Polished Cornerstones is a study for mothers and daughters; ‘it contains hundreds of practical activities and bible study ideas to help you and your daughters prepare for their future roles as helpers, wives, mothers, church members, and citizens.’ The great thing about the study is that it is for pretty much any age (3 and up) and offers many different project ideas – you can do one or all, and a project may take one day or one year (okay, maybe that’s a stretch, but it is possible!). Some of the topics are, ‘A Reliable Woman,’ ‘A Devoted Woman,’ ‘A Thrifty Woman,’ A Woman Who Uses Her Time Wisely,’ ‘A Studious Woman,’ and many many more. To see view the whole table of contents, click here (you can also view a sample chapter as well).
The projects in the book range from Beginner, to Intermediate and Advanced. I am going through the book with my four year old daughter, and I will help her in the beginner projects. I will also be going through the study myself (remember, many of us are re-training ourselves) by doing the intermediate and advanced projects.
So, how will the weekly link-up work?
Every Wednesday, beginning June 30th, you will write a post on your blog explaining the project you and/or your daughter have completed and then you will link your post back here (if you don’t have a blog, just join the community in the comments!). You can post pictures, share your struggles, your successes, your thoughts on the project, what you and/or your daughter learned, etc. We, as a group, are not going through the study systematically (however, you can!). The reason we are allowing such flexibility is twofold, 1. the study isn’t meant to be done systematically (but again, you can do it however fits you and your family best), and 2. personalities are different – some would feel extremely overwhelmed at the thought of going through each project systematically {ahem}. Also, since Polished Cornerstones recommends many other books to read, I’m going to try and take a readers advice and figure out a way to begin a book swap – yes, you would have to pay postage, but it’s cheaper then buying the books (usually) – is this something you would be interested in?
That’s it, simply.
You can purchase your Polished Cornerstones book here (Raising Homemakers get a discount by using code HOMEMAKERS when checking out (I’ve been told by those who have gone through PC that it is worth the investment – you will use it for years). Prepare your post for June 30th and link it back here so we can all be encouraged and inspired (there will be directions on this site on the days of the link-up – no worries, it’s easy!).
Well, now that we have that settled, let me tell you about today’s giveaway (oh I am so excited about it!)…

When I first watched the trailer for the documentary The Return of the Daughters I was quite intrigued. Daughters staying home during their single years? Actually enjoying staying home during their single years?! Apparently, daughters are staying home, and are enjoying it!
I had the opportunity to watch the movie when visiting with my dear friends the Brookshires (Mrs. Brookshire, Emily Rose, and Breezy), whom I absolutely adore and admire! I not only watched the movie and was introduced to a completely counter-cultural way of living, but I watched a family living it out before me and was in awe of the lifestyle. If you’re curious about what young women could be doing during their single years, this DVD is for you – it will challenge and motivate you.
(You can watch the trailer for the documentary here.)
To be entered for this giveaway simply leave a comment. For extra entries you may tweet, facebook, post about, or email those you think would like to know about it. Please leave a separate comment for each thing you do.
Oh, and by the way, Western Conservatory (the makers of Return of the Daughters) is having a BIG sale!!!!!! See here!
Have a beautiful day friends, and good ‘luck!’

This is such a foreign concept to me, but one that’s been on my mind a lot lately! I would love to win the DVD!
Wow! I watched the trailer and cannot wait to share just that small bit with my husband. With our daughter not yet 6, it sometimes feels that this season is so far off, but I know we must be laying the foundation now!

Would LOVE to have this movie. And we are already doing Polished Cornerstones, so would love to share. We don’t post regularly about that particular study but school in general. But we can post more (time allowing). Would love to share with my daughter what others are doing. And I LOVE the idea of a book swap. I get a bit discouraged that I can’t afford all the great resources recommended in the book.
I would love to win this! What a blessing!
