The Baby Conference {Audio Giveaway!}

by Emily Rose Brookshire on September 27, 2010 in Announcements, Giveaways, Industry, Inspiration in Child Rearing, Nurture

Baby Toes

Birth, biomedical ethics, doing laundry with a large family, ending abortion in America, the blessing of life, the hopeful theology of miscarriage, adoption, naming babies, home schedules . . .

The above subjects - and MORE - were discussed at The Baby Conference!

Although we were unable to attend “The Baby Conference: A History Family Summit on the Triumph of Life Over the Culture of Death“, put on by Vision Forum this past July, we were able to listen to the recorded audio from the conference.

There is approximately 36 hours of audio (including panels, discussions, and interviews!) from the conference. A sampling of just a few of the titles:

.

  • Ladies’ Symposium on Preserving and Promoting the Highest Ideals of Christian MotherhoodBeall Phillips (Moderator) Jennie Chancey, Carmon Friedrich, Denise Sproul
  • How the Local Church Builds a Thriving Culture of LifeScott Brown
  • Symposium on Biomedical Ethics for BirthDoug Phillips (Moderator), Geoff Botkin, Dan Becker, Dr. Ed Payne
  • Child Training: A Biblical TemplateKevin Swanson
  • The Hopeful Theology of MiscarriageDoug Phillips

.

Breezy and I listened to the audio while working on our latest projects (which will be announced soon), and were greatly encouraged by the application of strong, biblical worldview to all of life. We were also inspired by listening to mothers – who have had a great deal of experience – share about managing the logistics of their homes.

And we want to share the audio from The Baby Conference with you . . .

.

I would love to listen to this as a form of encouragement. We just had our fourth child, and would love to have more, but a strange thing happens once you pass the ‘permissible three’ level. People react strongly to others who have more than 2 or 3 – at the store complete strangers feel the need to comment, etc. – even Christian people discourage us from having more. I guess we’ve entered a different ‘class’ of people. We figure, we may as well keep on going if the Lord will give them to us, but this would be another encouragement along the way. We love our children and they are such a blessing to everyone we meet. If God would increase us more, it would be an honor.

Hi Ladies! Thanks for holding this contest… One of my favorite things about babies is that God can bless families regardless of how they are brought into the world. Two of my babies were given to me by the Lord through adoption. God has blessed us abundantly!!!

I love babies because they are closest to the innocence of Adam and Eve we can enjoy before they are corruppted all the more in the worlds hands.

I would LOVE to win this! We have four living children, after our first baby, who lives in Heaven, was stillborn at 38 weeks. I am so grateful for each child, and if God sees fit, we would love to have at least 6 more! I love the silkiness of newborn skin and the perfection of tiny hands and feet that, although complete, seem almost like ornamental decoration until they gain strength and use. I remember how light and delicate my third son’s little legs felt as he slumbered on my chest, as though they would never bear weight. Now he’s 3 and runs around like a maniac! :) Since my baby just turned a year, I am eagerly hoping for the next blessing soon! Thank you!

What a wonderful giveaway!! I haven’t had a chance to listen to the audio but would love to! As a mother, I believe my children are a blessing and not a burden. I particularly love the sweet smell of a freshly bathed baby’s neck or the look of love in their eyes as you hold them. <3

I love that babies are are little creations of God for his purpuse… full of hope for what Christ will do in their lives. They also work in our lives by revealing our need for selflessness, and dependence on God.

I am a mother of seven and I love having babies. It is such a great gift to watch them grow and learn new things. I always want a baby in my home to love on; even when mine are grown I will be enjoying my grandbabies. Keeping babies busy with stimulating things to do really gives them a great start in life that pays back a hundred fold.

I really have wanted to purchase this set, but just cannot at this time. For a while, I have really needed encouragement, but especially lately. I just gave birth to a full-term baby who was stillborn. My heart aches, and I am discouraged, to say the least. This would be such a blessing!

SaraA October 6, 2010

Oh, Dear Donna, I am so very, very terribly sorry for your loss. My hear aches with yours, as I so well know the anguish of empty arms after a full-term pregnancy. Our first son was stillborn at 38 weeks 13 years ago, and the grief was almost unbearable. I can imagine your pain and sorrow during this utterly sad time. We go from the excited heights of anticipation to the despairing depths of grief– but God is there even in the blackest moments. He carried me through that long, dark tunnel, and He will for you, too, Dear One. It does take time and tears, but the grieving process is a gift of healing from His tender, love-filled heart. Such comfort to KNOW with certainty we will see our precious, longed-for Babes someday, though it doesn’t erase the pain. You are in my prayers, sweet Momma, as you lean on the Lord for strength and comfort.
With warm hugs and TLC,
SaraA
