The mental image of “stay-at-home daughters” is usually of a girl . . .
Who is at home twiddling her thumbs while waiting, just waiting, for her Prince Charming to come and sweep her off her feet. She has nothing better to do than clean the house. Oh, and she can cook, too. What in the world does she do with all that free time? I mean really, all she’s capable of doing now is just waiting for her Prince Charming . . . right?
There’s a lot more to being a stay-at-home daughter than just cooking and cleaning. But because that’s the only thing the world thinks we’re doing, no wonder we seem so strange.
The majority of the stay-at-home daughters that I have met are productive, creative, resourceful, and in many cases are entrepreneurs. They have a vision and a desire to glorify the Lord in the area where He has sovereignly placed them by serving in the home.
Because we are at home, we are able to spend time preparing for the future, as well as being productive daughters at home.
We are able to spend time studying, learning how to change a tire, helping young mothers with their workload, starting a business, writing books, making baskets, serving the elderly, fixing window screens, cooking, understanding nutrition, sharing with others what we have learned, practicing hospitality, assisting our mothers, doing secretary work for our fathers, encouraging our siblings, etc. – just to name a few.
(I’m not saying a daughter who is away from home most of the time cannot do these things, but I think it would be most taxing to juggle the above plus school, job, etc.)
Rather than wasting my time idly sitting by, I desire to be a productive daughter who is passionate about today and preparing for the future. No, it’s not always easy, but by God’s grace I can glorify Him through the work of my hands as I seek to continue to learn, grow, and serve!
Blessings,

And now for the give-away!
So Much More was written by Anna Sofia & Elizabeth Botkin, fellow stay-at-home daughters. The Lord has used their book mightily and it has had an amazing impact on thousands of daughters around the world. So Much More is a wonderful book for daughters of all ages, as it gives biblical and practical advice on being daughters, serving our families, fighting sin, honoring our parents, and thriving in our God-given roles!
We are giving a copy of this wonderful book away to one of our readers! Also in the bundle will be two CD’s with audio from two important talks Anna Sofia & Elizabeth have given. The first is called Strength and Dignity for Daughters, which speaks on how a daughter can be a joy to her father and a tremendous help in his work, while looking to him as her hero.
The second is called, What Our Father Taught Us About Boys. In this talk they give practical advice on navigating the tricky waters of relationships with boys, and how these relationships, properly conducted, can be edifying and strengthening. This is one of my favorite talks by them, as they share about treating boys not as possible suitors (believe me, even three-year-olds think that way, because I was one of them!), but as brothers in Christ.
Leave a comment to enter the giveaway! (For extra entries you can post about this giveaway on a blog, twitter, facebook, etc., just be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry!) Give-away closes Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST.
P.S. Western Conservatory of the Arts and Sciences is having a grand Father’s Day Sale, go and check out the wonderful and encouraging products they offer to bless your family as you seek the Lord in your lives!

Looks like a great read! Thanks for the giveaway.I personally wish that I would have spent more time training for my role as wife and mother growing up at home. I got married at 18 and was clueless about many basic homemaking skills. Now I’m learning as much as I can as fast as I can and trying to train my daughter to be a homemaker from day 1!
Fabulous post. I wish I had learned this when I was a young girl.
What a blessing your new site will be (and already is!). And what a fabulous giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity.
This was wonderful to read! And so useful!
I wished I had been raised to be a wife and mother. I married at 19 and had no idea of what was to come next. I feel that my husband and children have witnessed my many homemaker flaws. LOL I hope to change all of that with my two daughters.
I would like to have this book! Thanks for the great giveaway!
I would love to give this as a gift to my daughter!
I would love this book for my daughter!
Young women to look up to and learn from. Hard to find in this day. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
This was a wonderful post – and a new concept to me, though I have tried to raise my girls under the umbrella of being Proverbs 31 women. One is 23 and the other 20. I think they would both enjoy reading this book and hearing these two CD’s. Thank you for your post and giveaway!

I tweeted about this post and giveaway
I shared this blog on my Facebook
I would love to give this book to my friend!
Thank you so much!
It is so true – I love how many opportunities we stay-at-home daughters have. When I first graduated from college and came home it was really easy to get discouraged because it was so easy to see how my friends, pursuing careers, were succeeding while my life seemingly stayed the same. Once I realized my attitude and perspective were wrong things changed – and now there are so many things I want learn and grow in while I “have extra time”! I wish I’d spent some of that past time doing a little more learning and a little less thumb-twiddling.
God bless!
Thank you for the post! Having left the world to be a Mother and Homemaker, I have not thought as far down the path as what my baby daughter will do when she enters womanhood (and how girls will view my three boys). This is very interesting and I look forward to learning more!
I have posted this on my blog and linked up. Also, thank you for the information on the His Story Paper Dolls. How neat!
What a great giveaway!
Good stuff.
I just heard about this blog, and I’ll be RSSing from now on.
I think this is a wonderful website that can and will encourage mothers how to train their daughters to be the women of God that He has called them to be. Thank you for taking your time to do this and thank you for the wonderful literature giveaway in which to train our daughters with.
I am enjoying your new website. Thanks for the giveaway.
Just heard of this website via the blog A beautiful calling.
Great giveaway!
What a generous giveaway! I know that this book would be such a help to me and my five sisters.
Wow, what a cool giveaway! I would love to have all of those things! I only wish I had a blog/facebook/twitter so I could enter again! Well, one entry is all that will win anyway.
Wow! What a great giveaway, and a great post! This is a really helpful website, thank you so much for creating it!
I emailed it to my friends.
I am a new comer to these resources, and am absolutely enthused that there are such resources. Before I have only looked at the resources within my own religion, and have found them to be a bit inadequate in preparing and training my daughters for loving the life of a homemaker. Thank you for putting together this awesome blog, and recommending such resources.
What a wonderful resource and blessing. As an adult I sincerly wish I had learned these things, and I am now trying to teach my daughter using the Bible ( of course) and whatever I can glean from other mothers who are raising their daughters similarly.
I was sent to this sent site from Thimble Thoughts, and cannot wait to keep returning.
Susan
What a wonderful website. Helpful, practically speaking. It is good to know there are level-headed young women out there to learn from. Looks like a neat giveaway.
Excellent resources!
I love that book, and would love to get another copy to give to my friends! Thanks for posting this giveaway!
I have 2 daughters and a grand daughter I would like to share with.
Great book!! Would like another copy to give to my friend!!!
I’m new to the concept of a stay-at-home daughter so this was definitely intriguing. I was raised in a non-Christian home where we were expected to go to college, get a job, marry, having kids that we send to daycare, and go on with life. I went to college, got married, had a son, graduated college, started to stay home, had another son, and am continuing to stay home plus hopefully doing home school next year.
Wow! I would love to win these items. I am raising a little homemaker (4yrs) and love to read all I can get my hands on. Thanks for the opportunity!
Would love to read this book I have little homemakers 4 and 6 years old.
Just post it on my facebook page. Thanks
What a great giveaway! Please enter me…
This looks like a great give away. I have 2 future homemakers and am trying desperately to retrain myself to be a godly homemaker.
What a wonderful givaway! I would love these resources. Please enter me! Thanks!
I would love to win this! I’m trying to raise my daughter to be a future homemaker and a guide like this would be very helpful.
I’d love to win. Thanks for the giveaway!
a lovely post. I wish the same for my daughter.
I want to win. Thanks!
I wish I had been educated for the real, practical duties of life I am fulfilling today: wife, mother, homemaker, missionary-teammate (with my husband!) It is hard to learn the hard way, and so fast… this book will be a good guide to encourage my children and other young women in my life. Thanks for the opportunity!!
I’ve read So Much More and love the book, but have not viewed the other resources – would love to win this giveaway.
Thanks for this great offer. I have “So Much More,” but would love to win another one to share with someone!
I just found your wonderful site a couple of days ago from Your Sacred Calling. Your posts are blessing and equipping me to raise my children God’s way.
As a mother of four, two boys, two daughters, I am ever aware of my shortcomings as a wife and mother. I know these resources and others like them would strengthen and edify our home. They are resources that I need as much as my daughters. Thank you for doing this give away and highlighting such great resources!
