The winner of the Prairie Primer pack is…

Dawn, from Simple Blessings!  Congrats!  Please email me at info (at) raisinghomemakers (dot) come with subject “PP winner!”  Thanks!  :)

I did not grow up with the Little House books (shocking, I know).

Oh sure, I knew the show and watched it a time or two, but had no idea there were ACTUAL BOOKS involved!  Imagine my delight when I found out I could combine my love of reading, teaching my children, and the warmth of the Ingall family all in one glorious format!  Reading/schooling format that is!

Delight friends, pure delight.

I will be taking my babes through the Prairie Primer and reading the Little House books for the first time right along with them.

And you can too.

Oh wait, I’m getting ahead of myself.

Here is a little bit about the Prairie Primer from the publisher:

Based on the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Prairie Primer opens a door to the 1800’s world of the homesteader on the American frontier. Discover that Pa and Caroline were married in the year Abraham Lincoln was elected president. Understand why men moved their families to the frontier. Learn how common diseases of the day had life-changing effects on even the isolated homes of the prairie. See how the U.S. government’s Indian policies affected homesteaders…The Prairie Primer is designed for children grades third through sixth, but as with most unit studies it can be adapted for use with those younger or older. (Read more about it here.)

Perfection, right?! Hello!  This curriculum is so great for raising homemakers!!! (And boys…) ;)

I am so excited about this curriculum.  It is God entrenched and full of Little House goodness (minus the pig bladder balloon project, ahem).

Oh yes, God filled…

“The Prairie Primer has been devised to help parents impresses upon their children the way to walk faithfully with the Lord…emphasizes studying the Word of God.”

So here’s the fabulous news of the day: WE’RE GIVING A PRAIRIE PRIMER TO ONE OF YOU!!!!!!  Oh, and not just the Primer, but the entire Prairie Primer Pack A, which includes…

We LOVE this series…..I read the entire series to my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son…..last year…..pioneer life was so exciting….we couldn’t wait to get back to our reading every chance we could. It took us an entire year to read them all in order…..we even took them on trips with us so we wouldn’t miss a second of the adventures!! I don’t know if we’ll ever find another series which will have such a profound impact on our children!!
